VET in Schools

VET (Vocational Education and Training) in Schools allows learners to gain practical skills in a specific industry. Programs provide learners with a qualification or partial completion of a nationally recognised certificate. Indie College has a partnership with Indie School to deliver VET in Schools. Programs are taught by industry-experienced coaches.  

NB: VETiS courses are only available to Indie School students, subject to attending an enrolment interview and course availability.

Certificate II in Workplace Skills

BSB20120

Nationally recognised qualification entry-level course that helps to develop the necessary skills in preparation for work.

Learners will build an understanding of the following tasks;

  • Basic procedural  
  • Clerical
  • Administrative
  • Technology skills

Certificate I in Hospitality

SIT10222

Nationally recognised qualification that  provides an introduction into the Hospitality industry and a flexible pathway to work in various Hospitality settings.

Learners will build an understanding of;

  • Customer service
  • Team work
  • Safe and hygienic food handling practices
  • Preparing simple dishes
  • Care and cleaning of equipment

 

This qualification provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.

Certificate II in Applied Digital Technologies

ICT20120

Nationally recognised qualification that provides the foundation skills and knowledge to use basic applied digital technologies in varied contexts. The qualification is designed for those developing the necessary digital and technology skills in preparation for work for entry level positions in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry.

The learners will build an understanding of:

  • Operating systems
  • Common business software packages
  • Digital devices
  • Time management
  • Customer service

Certificate II in Cookery

SIT20421

Nationally recognised qualification that provides skills and knowledge working in kitchens using a defined and limited range of food preparation and cookery skills to prepare food and menu items.

This qualification provides a pathway to work in cookery in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops; and institutions such as aged care facilities, hospitals and schools.

Enrolment

Let’s Go and Alternative Programs offer a pathway for young people to re-engage back into training, education or employment. Enrolment is dependent on eligibility, age and location.
